Learn & Serve
Learn & Serve is PRoTechos' workforce development initiative, providing participants with hands-on carpentry and roof construction training while helping rebuild safe, resilient homes for vulnerable families across Puerto Rico.
Unlike traditional classroom instruction, participants develop practical skills by working alongside experienced professionals on real roof reconstruction projects that create lasting impact in communities across Puerto Rico.

How the Program Works
1. Learn the Fundamentals
1 Week
Participants begin with classroom instruction covering carpentry fundamentals, roof construction techniques, jobsite safety, and proper tool handling.
2. Train in the Field
13-14 Weeks
Participants apply their knowledge alongside experienced carpenters on active roof reconstruction projects throughout Puerto Rico.
3. Graduate with Experience
150+ Training Hours
Participants complete the program with practical field experience, a certificate of completion, and the confidence to pursue careers in the construction industry.
